I have always wanted a German Broomhandle Mauser, ever since I first laid eyes on one. And as a bonus, the Rocketeer uses one! But at $1,000 for a beat up specimen, I'll have to wait. The wife feels that money is better spent on bills, for some reason. I counter that no matter what, they will keep sending more bills...

Well i'm fairly sad as well. My grandfather's brother died in WWII fighting the japanese. Back then a footlocker was shipped back with whatever was in it regardless from what I was told. Anyway the footlocker came back to my grandfather with a luger (I'm going to suppose it really was the Nambu pistol) several grenades, and a rifle, probably an Arasaka or the M1 carbine. Anyway, my grandfather moves from his farm to the city, forgets the footlocker in the basement. New owners find it, call the Police, it all gets confiscated and destroyed. Now the grenades I don't blame them. I don't want aging munitions anywhere near me, but the firearms and other personal effects I regret being lost.

This is about someone not knowing what they have. This paticular deal I saw in a swap meet in California years ago. Nice older Lady was selling wood clamps $6.00. They were starrett Micrometers in a set 0 to 6 in a nice box. I missed out on the deal, They go for $1800.
Last thing I remember, running for the door,
I had to find the passage back to the place
I was before.

I know it is, I feel the police destruction of these items also is a matter of THEM not knowing what they are destroying either. At least construction crews have the decency to stop work when they find artifacts or fossils.
