DVD/CD Drawer
Is there an easy way to make a CD/DVD work again without replacing it? Just the drawer stays in works otherwise. I get these all the time. Can you pull the top off and grease something? I don't mean it's stuck in and ya just poke a paper clip in the hole the ones that just stop opening.

Sometimes the mini fan belt as I call them, falls off. Sometimes, they get so worn, they just slip. If it's slipping, take it off, and twist it so the inside track becomes the outside. You will have to take the top off the drive.

@ 14.99 for a new drive - I'd replace any drive that doesn't work corretly.
There is also an electronic switch that plays a part...

Fixing them is hit or miss. Best case scenario is that debris in the drive is causing a problem, but usually, it is just an hour squandered to confirm that the electronics are shot.
