    I have always used Easus DRW (Data Recovery Wizard)
    Bought it a long time ago and it has worked well for me

    Test disk for those RAW partitions that aren't... takes a while but very reliable. Ordinary deletions PCInspector which is free too

    Recuva (pronounced "recover") is a freeware Windows utility to restore files that have been accidentally deleted from your computer. This includes files emptied from the Recycle bin as well as images and other files that have been deleted by user error from digital camera memory cards or MP3 players. It will even bring back files that have been deleted by bugs, crashes and viruses!

    I too am a fan of Easus Data Recovery Wizard, also I have had success with Get Data Back, works great for recovering data from RAID builds, and although extremely slow, Steve Gibson's SpinRite has worked for me as well.
    The early bird may get the worm; but the second mouse gets the cheese!
