I googled the lappy... I didn't find much but got the impression it's pushing ten years old.
It really isn't worth the effort to try and upgrade the CPU... Its also very likely that the cpu is soldiered into the mobo and can't be upgraded.
A 100 dollar bill would get you a MUCH newer/better machine with ore ram etc...

http://www.wimsbios.com/biosupdates/mitac.jsp
This is the company (Mitac) that (apparently) made the Bios (confirmation is YOUR responsibility),
You will note that this is a 'pay for' service.
However, it gives you the data to search further afield.

Many thanks for your prompt reply.... and the time you've taken to look online, just a note, unfortunately due to the health situation im in money is short coming, so finding a more up to-date laptop is not possible at this time (i am saving though!!).... but what i have got is time on my hands while i'm indoors hence trying to improve the spec... indecently i have had the motherboard completely out and all hardware off in the process on an earlier soldiering job for the power plug and the cpu is removable hence again me trying to upgrade..
many thanks again for your help on my old dinosaur!!!
