Angry So what happened to the Windrivers forum?

    Hey guys,

I've been a long time member here and always loved the site, so what happened? Why has it been so dead around here the last few years. 10+ years ago it was THE place to find just about anything tech-related..nowadays..not so much? Was it just the competition? Drama on the forums? What gives? Again, I only ask because I loved the information this place had and the techs that were on it and now there is no-one really

It has been allowed to slowly die.
    Why is anyone's guess. I don't think
you can even access the original site
    for drivers or anything anymore.

Things change and never stay the same. People found other places/sites to be at. Social media has taken a large chunk of that.
I liked Windrivers many years ago when I was in the wonderful world of computers. Very handy place to come. The whole world of computing has changed in the last 10 years.

If you look at many of the places that are doing "real" tech support, there's no longer much sense of community, and what you mostly see is the same 10 questions asked 1000 times, and most of the replies are expected to conform to the site's unofficial editorial preferences for replies. I mean, in a world where most of the mods really dealt with malware daily, you simply wouldn't find so many glowing recommendations for Microsoft Security Essentials as you can find at some sites. Also, everyone must be very P.C. these days. Support sites are about driving advertising traffic, and not much about support. Not to say that most of them are just shills.
Yes, Mr. Death... I'll play you a game! But not CHESS !!! BAH... FOOEY! My game is...
