I have obtained Dell laptop and acer laptop through Boss`es storage, he knew I would be interested No power cord contacted Dell they wanted 74.00 dollars for one. I went to E`bay obtained one for 6.00 dollars. Recieved it and checked them out both work win 98 on Acer but hard drive and caddy and harddrive missing on Dell. Contacted Dell for replacement caddy and adapter they could not find one in there possession. googled and found caddy and adapter for 5.00 dollars ordered will be here soon, surprisingly Battery on Dell holds charge. it has 64 mb memory is designed for win 98 and Windows NT What would work with this pentium 2. Linux? Ubuntu?

SliTaz, Loram flavor can boot with only 16 MB and a little swap memory.
TinyCore is an example of what can be done with a 12MB FLTK/FLWM desktop.
BasicLinux, DOS version 386 w/3MB RAM, Floppy version 386 w/12MB RAM.
Damn Small Linux can run light enough to power a 486DX with 16MB of RAM.
Slackware 8.1 will run on a Pentium 1 with 200MMX processor, 3GB hard drive and 16MG RAM.

Perhaps you should try Ubuntu. It runs fine on both Dell laptops that we do have here.
