    Windows 8 not detecting external hard drive

    WINDOWS 8 NOT DETECTING EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE, It will work fine with any other operating system so definitely a win 8 issue, any ideas?
    A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kick boxing.

    does it do with just one hard drive or with all the drives you could try on it?

    solved

    managed to sort it, with disk software it had no drive letter assigned, but bizzarley win 7 was detecting it no problem
