bad checksum
I have a COMPAQ EVO D300V, and the keyboard freezes up when booting I am getting the message bad gnu checksum, the computer will not boot how can I fix this error message?

There are several possibilities here. Usually a checksum error is due to the Motherboard battery being dead. 2nd have you tried a different keyboard? Is the keyboeard a USB or PS2?
It's not the computers that keep having problems, it's the users!!

I have tried both and am still having same problem. error message goes away but keyboard freezes up when going into bios settings.

No is there a easy way to do this computer will boot but everything locks up quickly

Download and burn the iso to a cd or dvd
