Tablets
Was just wondering if anyone else is running into this: I have doctors who are looking into using tablets for their patients when entering the rooms. Most of them are using some form of EHR which the tableets are compatabile with. The question I have is, most of the doctors have multiple offices they visit and may need to print a script or report for the patient, since there may be different printers, what is the most feasible way to print and what would be the best device to use? I am looking at the Samsung Note 10.1 or possibley the Surface RT. Anyone have comments or suggestions?
Maybe we need to start a thread on these items as it seems they are becoming more into the business area.

I have an HP Officejet Pro 8600 and a Canon MG 3250. They are both wireless. I can print from my Motorola Xoom, and my Samsung Galaxy Note. There are apps in the Play Store for those brands. What about Google Print? Might have some privacy issues with Google though.

Be very careful with storing records and the way they are transmitted or you may end up in a world of pain...

FYI, The EHR is a web based program with encryption meeting HIPPA regulations. There re no files stored on any of the local systems. Thank you for your concern.

What about printing? Is that going to be made over an encrypted connection? What about rooted devices that may have keyboard/screen grabbing trojans?

All printing is done through the same application and is encrypted as well. The devices will not be rooted and will be HIPPA complient.
