    Ms sbs 2011

    Hi All,

Does anyone know why MS limits some Server distributions with the amount of RAM? I understand the 32 bit limitation, but why would they limit a 64 bit SBS to just 32GB? Does not seem right.
No matter where you go........there you are.

It's just one of those things that MS does... I'd guess that since it's designed for smaller uses, MS decided that 32gigs should do the trick.

SBS is a "compact", all-in-one *SMALL BUSINESS* server.
There are different products geared towards those with exceptional requirements, and those who NEED over 32GB probably should use separate machines for the resource-intensive apps.
That being said I am running a full Sharepoint 2013 virtual with 8GB or RAM while having SQL and the DC roles on the same instance.
