    Interesting...
Plug the phone cord that came with the product into the line port () on the back of the product and into the phone wall jack. Make sure the cord has only two wires. If the cord has four wires, replace it with a two-wire phone cord.
Protected by Glock. Don't mess with me!

I want to thank everyone for the assist. The problem is finally fixed. It turns out that the printer had to be plugged into a line splitter. In other words, the splitter has a connection for line 1 and a connection for line 2. Even though I have only 1 line, it has to do with something on the fax circuit board and the way it is made. Go figure
It's not the computers that keep having problems, it's the users!!

CeeBee's two wire cable would have accomplished the same thing. Glad you got it working.

Further to that other HP link -> http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...name=c00415303

This is just added info BUT what is clear is that most All-in-Ones need the 'splitting' capability, which can be provided by a choice of different devices with similar capabilities, to work reliably.

Thank you. All I can say to that is: " I can do RJ45 but I am getting older and RJ11 not my forte."

Thanks CCT. Times are changing with the newer equipment and faster speeds. To bad we have to hunt down the solutions when it used to be in a manual for setup.
