    computer freezes

I am running Windows 10. My computer freezes but I can still move mouse around. The only thing I can do is shut the computer down.

Try to start it in Safe Mode with Networking.

If it then responds, update all drivers and Win 10.

Everything is updated. It does not do it all the time. When it does it the computer looks normal but it does not respond. The mouse pointer moves on the screen but the buttons do not work. The keyboard does not work either. I than have to shut the computer off. I restart it and everything is ok.

OK - time to let us know the make and model of your computer and motherboard specifics.

You can try (on a good boot) using the Dell driver update.

I will suggest that if the Dell drivers all are up to date and Windows 10 is as well and the issue persists that you backup all your files/downloads to another drive (internal, external, flash, whatever) and restore the system using the factory partition/disk.

I would also suggest you do the Dell diagnostics. There could be a hardware problem such as the HDD. It has been known to cause freezes and slow running.
It's not the computers that keep having problems, it's the users!!
