VA7 Abit sound problem
I'm trying to troubleshoot an A-bit VA7 mainboard. The sound apparently cuts out after a certain amount of use. This has happened in various applications and the only way to get sound again is to reboot the system. Any ideas?

Try to download and install the latest drivers for the chipset.

What OS? If NT or 2000 remove the sound drivers, install service pack and reinstall newer sound driver. If 9x, remove sound driver, reinstall dirextx, reinstall sound, reinstall directx to ensure all files are as they should be. Next check heat inside case.

If it is an Intel chip and you have overclocked it, you have also overclocked the PCI bus - this is a no-no as your pci devices are no longer reliable, please return to default values and try again.
