    Post Fire wire Slowing down system

    I have a PC that the fire wire card slows the PC in a big way. With out the card in the PC it is fine, but once you install the card, the preformance drops. the PC is a 1.4 P4, 512MB, and Win XP.

    What make is the Firewire card? Did you check for updated drivers? Try another cable to see if this is causing the problem.

    I tried all of the above. The card does work, but slows down the speed. I have had this happened before, and replaced the card and it fixed the problem. I'm just wondering if anyone else had this problem.
