powerpt\slideshow to html
Hi again
I made a powerpt slideshow in off97, and now have off2000 beta which let me make the whole show into one htm file, which is great...but it will only run in internet expl. 4 or higher, IE works great but netscape (I have 4.51) will not see it, says enable java but it is enabled...is there a way to convert it so both can see it (I want to make a web page -another new project for me)
PS... I tried frontpage express, brings up powerpt so no help there

How to restore displaying of Java applets to MSIE 5.0?
All I see now is the placeholder box with a very small icon.
I am currently using: Windows98 = v4.10.2222
In MSIE 5.01 under View,
Clicking on Java Console produces no visible results.
(Console IS shown under Netscape 4.72)
I have downloaded and done a Normal Install of
MSIE = v5.00.2919.6307IC from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/IE/
(There is no option, as I was once asked, for Full.)
Microsoft's Virtual Machine VM
I have downloaded and installed the latest version of
Java from http://www.microsoft.com/java/
JView = v5.00.3240
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/d...productupdates
shows no relevant Critical Updates.
I have also run, under Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs |
Install/Uninstall | Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 and Internet
Tools | Add/Remove | Repair Internet Explorer and re-booted.
In MSIE under Tools, Options, Security, Custom Level,
all settings have Enable selected. (And Low Security)
Microsoft's Virtual Machine VM
In MSIE under Tools, Options, Advanced, Microsoft VM,
all three boxes are checked. Should they all be?
And, if it matters,
Outlook Express = v5.00.2919.6600
Outlook98 = v8.5.5104.6 (Build 52919.6307)
One of the sites I fail to see the Java applet on is: http://webpac.hennepin.lib.mn.us/hclwebclient.html
All I see there, is the empty placeholder and tiny icon.
(I do see the console under Netscape 4.70 ...see below*)
I use Norton Disk Doctor and Norton WinDoctor. No errors.
I have run clspack -auto
Resource Meter shows
System resources: 71% Free
User resources: 71% Free
GDI resources: 83% Free
Java does display under Netscape Communicator 4.72
*but it errors out at the end of the transaction with
"Unsigned Java Appl(et)"
Thank you, -John

P.S.
c:\bootlog.txt shows...
[0008687A] INITCOMPLETE = SDVXD
[0008687B] INITCOMPLETEFAILED = SDVXD
[000861C4] DEVICEINIT = MTRR
[000861C6] DEVICEINITFAILED = MTRR
The second one I did restore to c:\windows\system

If I'm reading you post correctly, you want to be able to view these in NETSCAPE, right? Ok, two things. First, try upgrading to the full version of O2000, not the Beta. Also, go for the latest version of Netscape. I believe 4.51 had some issues with Java that got worked out in later releases.
Hope this helps (-:
