MP3, widely accepted by software and hardware players. WMA is allegedly superior.
Think Betamax vs VHS...

Agreed with above post that mp3 is more widely used/supported.
BUT, doesn't Micro-shaft have enough control over the world?

Mp3 is cool because I could just drag and drop them into Nero to create an audio cd. But now Nero supports wma too, so either way is cool with me. They're both small file formats, and both do the same job. But I guess I still prefer mp3 only because I like things that are standardized, and mp3 is certainly the standard in compact music files.

i know M$ likes to monopoly around but wma is free!

MP3 of course.
Two main advantages:
1. Widely supported
2. Can be converted to audio by most CD-Recording Software
