Outlook 2000
Hi everyone,
this is a problem I just got a call on from a close friend and I want your input.
he's a tech/admin/webadmin for a small company..
scenario:
Windows 2000 domain + Windows 2000 clients.
Roaming profiles.
Office 2000 SR2.
that's a small domain with 15 users and 15 computers.
one client computer keeps having the same problem: all the contacts data (phones etc) from his outlook is gone.
this is the third time in 4 months it happend.
any suggestions ? checklists ?
I never went there myself, but this got my attention (I love those mysterious problems )
Of course I'd check the logs on the server and the client to see if there's something unusual..
anyone ever had such problem ? something similar ?
I told him to try and disable the roaming profile for this client for a while to see if it's the romaing profile or some other issue but I still want to find a solution and not a workaroud...
your help is appreciated.

Had a similar problem with a Palm PDA user with a spooky disappearing Outlook Contacts list. Seems whenever he synced his palm, his settings were set by him to sync the PC to the palm...not the reverse [or the "do nothing" option]. And since he didn't use Outlook on his palm, but had opted for Outlook syncing when he first started the PDA up, he had an empty Outlook file on the palm, which would then erase his PC Outlook contacts.

I saw the problem of disappearing outlook contacts recently. From what I've sussed out so far, it looks like a buggy Win2k security patch from M$.
