DVD Audio Problem...
Alas, my nerd powers are weak today, for can not figure out what is wrong with this Samsung DVD-ROM model SD-608. When I play an audio CD, it will sound fine for about a minute, then it will cease playing music from the right speaker. I believe it is the DVD-ROM because the speakers work on other computers, and the same sound card was used. The audio will work, however, if I use the digital mode of playback, but that takes too many computer resources to use (12% or so). Does anybody know what the problem is? I am running Windows 2000, Creative PCI 128, MSI board with 1.2 Athlon. Thanks.

Possibly a bad or loose audio cable. If you have a spare, try changing it.

Thank you Dumass (is that French?). I do believe it was a bad audio cable.
