Pioneer Dvd-U03S Setting
I have a Pioneer Dvd-U03S. In the function switch, where you can set Scsi Id, termination etc., the #6, as is written in the manual, sets the default sector size: ON= 512 bytes, OFF= 2048 bytes. I do not remember what was the factory default (manual say nothing). What's the meaning of the default sector size? And what could happen if you set 512 or 2048? Thanks!!

Lets see, I think I read something somewhere about some SCSI drives simply operating with a default sector size of 2048, but most operate with a default sector size of 512. I'd stick with 512. If you have other devices in your SCSI chain, changing the value to 2048 may possibly maybe negatively affect their operation. . . maybe.
Check out the Linux docs on LILO and dual booting for pointers to more info related to this issue.
