New HD in Win 2000 Server
I'm installing a new motherboard on a system running Win 2000. Normally, in Win98 I just dump the ENUM key and boot up. I'm getting a Stop Blue Screen that says inaccessable boot device. I'm guessing it was the ATA 100 controller, so I tried booting up with the HD on IDE2 but I get the same result.
How do I install the drivers for the onboard ATA100 controller? Or is that my problem?

The problem lays with the Chipset on the motherboard. This mainly occurs when you have changed chipsets from one type to another. Unlike Win9x/ME , win2k does not automatically default back to the default IDE drivers upon a board change, hence this stop BSOD. Easiest way I have found is to replace the old board back, boot into safe mode, uninstall the old IDE drivers and then manually install the ones for the new board. This works about 60% of the time.
You are not the only one with this problem.

Thanks for the help Rocco. Lucky for me the customer decided to use a new HD and a clean install. The old HD will be slaved so he can get his data.
