Windows 2000 client not reaching DHCP server
Help!!!!!
I have several windows 2000 professional clients who are configured for DHCP, but none of these clients can get an IP. The server is windows 2000 server and is running perfectly (another 90 odd clients are connecting with no problems).
Anyone!!!!!!!

What OS are the "odd" clients running that are connecting to the server? If the problem ius narrowed down to 200p Pro clients not connecting it could be related to DNS.
Do you have DNS running on the server and do you have AD running on the server? If no AD then DNS may not be as important. What network protocols are installed on the server and on the workstations? I am guessing the DHCP server on the server is authorized because you say others get an IP so it is either related to DNS or protocol binding or something on the wire is blocking it and one way to troubleshoot this other than using a cable tester is to connect the workstation to the same hub or switch the server is on.

1st thing try pinging
yourself (127.0.0.1)
then server
If that's ok, check the IP addressing pool. How many addresses is it set to give out?
