lap top hardware sites
i have a ibm think pad can anyone tell me of a web site devoted to laptop upgrades and use parts

You can only upgrade 3 components in a laptop PC. The RAM, the hard drive, and in rare cases the CPU.
RAM is easy to upgrade and usually will not void the warranty.
hard drive is also easy to upgrade..but it might void the warranty. YOu can order laptop 2.5" hard drives off any hardware site; look on Pricewatch for some...
CPU, I have seen mobile CPUs for Pentium IIIs on Pricewatch but this would certainly void your warranty. No AMD based mobile CPUs though, and no Celerons.
