[RESOLVED] Creative 52X Reading @ 8X????

I have a 900MHz AMD Atlon Thunderbird, running on Windows ME OS,with 128 MB RAM, all on an Asus A7 Pro Motherboard, An Acer 8X 4X 32X CDRW. My problem is with my creative 52X CD ROM it seemed like it was running slowly bogging down alot so i ran a cdrom benchmark and it only averages 8X. Any advice would be highly appreciated.

Try switching the IDE controller to DMA mode...

Have you tried to load the latest drivers for the motherboard's chipset?

Check your jumpers and and sometimes cdr=fight with cdroms look into it.
