Norton
Running norton on laptops and windows 98 seems sluggash at boot up the boot up takes longer after you install norton any suggestions on speeding up the norton process at boot up.

remove it from the start up.

I think Norton also leaves boot-up execs in the registry (HKLM\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS\CURRENTVERSION\RU N...), so you may want to check if this is the case here.
This will disable Norton from protecting the PC until it is manually started. Is that what you want?

Yes, Norton will slow down your bootup process quite a bit. But once it loads up, it shouldn't suck up a whole lot of your resources...assuming you have a minimum of 32MB RAM...preferably, 64MB or more. We have Norton AV 2002 running on all of our PC's and it works like a champ. No Anti-Virus protection will work if you don't load it up.
