connect to a sever

hello to all,

ok i an try to connect to a friend site ( he is run a server) i can't get in his site it say


"227 Entering Passive Mode (192,168,1,100,195,152).
COMMAND:> LIST
STATUS:> Connecting data socket...
ERROR:> Failed to establish data socket "

i play with the passive mode on and off and i can not get in, and my friend do not know what to do...

i also run a server on my computer and three of my friend are have the some problem the only way they can get in my site is if i set it up on port 21 but i do not want to use port 21. can some on help me on this.... <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

Are you behind a firewall? Make sure that you open the ports if you are. Remember that ftp uses two ports 21 and 22. These may be open by default in your firewall, but if you only open one port it will not provide you with a connection.

i an on Win Xp firewall but i set up a port then my site can use too just like it is site up for port 21 and 22

Not to be a nitpicker, but if you spelled correctly and used proper grammer, you would likely get more responses. As it is, I can't even understand what you are saying.
