*cries*
Less than a month ago I purchased a Fujitsu some model name or another 10gb IDE HD and now after less than a months time it is loaded with bad sectors. I've only installed one OS on it and that was WinME, and I run scandisk and defragmenter on a regualar basis. The drive has never been knocked around or exposed to any sort of shock whatsoever, so how is it possible that it now has so many bad sectors, and is there anything I can do to improve the performance now that it does? Thanx.

Yeah, if it's barely a month old, take it back for another one. Don't even mess with it. I know, time to backup everything.
If you can, trade it in for a Seagate drive...just an idea.
Good Luck!
