Mp3 gurus.... answer this question

I have downloaded a few mp3's occasionally that are mixed like a bag of doggy poop.

Is there any program out there where you can remix the mp3 and save it where it isnt as low in volume...or add an echo?

I know that Roxio EasyCD Creator programs allow you to "alter" music files, such as clean up hisses and scratches, add echos, and do other changes to your music. That is the only one I know of, not to say there aren't other out there. Not to mention that the program also burns music CD's, data, VCD, straight MP3's (I have fit 100+ songs onto a CD! )....

i think the audigy comes with software that does this. tell morticia you need to get her a new sound card for... quake. she'll understand.

If you are burning it to a cd, Nero will let you normalize the output(make the volume for all the tracks the same). All you need to do is right click on the file/files that you want to modify and then when it brings up the filters, just normalize to 20. Then before you burn, make sure that you check "Calculate audio filters on the fly".

As far as modifying them outside of a burning prog, I'm pretty sure you would be better off converting them to wav files to make your mods, them converting them back to mp3s. I have used a program called Goldwave to edit files and it seems to work well.

Best way to do this is to convert them to WAV and user CoolEdit 2000. I've used this packed for a good while now and never needed to look anyhwere else for a decent audio editing package. This package is the dogs-do-da's, It can clean up dodgy MP3s, resample them, increase volume in certain areas, add echo and lots lots more.

If you are into MP3 mixing look at BPM Studio Professional this is basically a mixing deck for the PC. It works with most audio file so its well worth a look.

She might fall for it! LOL! We have a Sound Blaster Live! Value (OEM card... no box)... it seems to be the best card we had so far.
