    Post New site for comments!!

Yes, I know this site is still kludgy and simplistic. I need ideas to clean up the interface and make the information more useful, colorful and interesting. ALL comments are welcome, no matter how critical, as long as you give suggestions
The boss doesn't totally want to revamp it, but I do, so I need ideas! Please help! www.lunchsurf.com

Get rid of the "under construction" graphic. There's nothing worse than going to a website with every second page that says under construction. If it isn't finished, that's fine, but don't have ANY links to unfinished pages, that bring visitors to a dead end that isn't finished. And don't advertise the fact on your home page, either!

Also, insert the following code in your page in place of your existing "body" tag:
    Code:
    body topmargin="0" leftmargin="0" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0"
This will eliminate the white margins between the graphics and the browser frame.

Now I tried several of the combinations from the search drop down boxes, and a lot of the time I got no results. Maybe you'd be better off listing the restaurants by area only OR food type only, and NOT both. For example, there are no cafeterias in certain areas, so why have an option for the visitor to search for something that doesn't exist??? This would reduce the frustration level from visitors to your site. You want them to be able to find what they want on their first visit, so they will come back again. That's what will make the site successful.

Something else: You may want to change the icons on the pages from pix of live animals to pix of finished prepared food (like a burger instead of a cow for example) This kinda turned me off in the appetite dept.

thanks, the boss is keen on this site, despite my wanting to scrap it and start over. Yeah I do hate the graphics and spacing and almost unworkable searches. I fear I'm gonna spend a lot of time trying to repair this site more so than starting over from scratch......again your comments are very appreciated.

yeah, I agree with MacGyver on this one. It was a tad frustrating to go through a search by food type and place and get nothing. I did four searches before I even got a match.

Oh, and the radioactive red lobster, I'd get rid of that too. That's just scary.
