    Exclamation Office Install/Uninstall Won't Work!

Every time I try to uninstall Office 2000 (or try to run the setup file for any reason), I get this lovely error message.

How can I get around this (if it's even possible to do so)? I really need to uninstall it!

Have you upgraded to IE 6 by chance?

Try doing it in safe mode. That might work.

You can also try the Office 2000 Eraser Utility, which is a Terminator 2 type app that nukes all traces of Office from your computer. Get it here: http://support.microsoft.com/support.../Q219/4/23.asp - asta la vista, baby.

Please note that there are different versions of this utility: one for Win9x/ME, and one for W2K. Make sure you get the right one!

Thank you SO much, guys. In the interest of time, I tried Sowulo's fix first, and it worked perfectly. Now I just have the issue of conversion from 97 to 2000 [sigh], but that'll be a post for another day.

I had never even heard of updating the windows installer before I had a problem that was fixed by it a while back. Good work Sowulo.

I think in upgrading to 2000, the only thing you'll run into is problems with MS Access. We have been doing the upgrade around here for a few weeks, so I know what you are about to go through. Anyways, this link should cure anything with Access. Good luck
