    98se

    device mgr has a"mini-wan port(atw)" what is it and does the pc need it if there is no nic.ms vpn is also installed.can i delete this also.

    If you're not using VPN, then there's no reason to have it. Feel free to dump it. Don't go blaming me if you're on a company machine and your admin yells at you tomorrow, though.

    I would consult your motherboard manual to answer whether you need wan miniport support. Sometimes using it screw up your video and/or audio drivers. So you don't want to keep it unless you don't have to.
