    Post Banner Page Printing

I have a Win95 user who is connected to a HP LaserJet 5si/nx. When I install the latest driver, PCL5, I can't find an option anywhere for printing a banner page, although it always does. I tried telnetting into the printer and disabling the banner page, but it doesn't work. Does anyone have a suggestion how to disable the banner page? Thanks!

Try going to custom paper size in enter in the size of your banner...I've had to do this a few times. Hope it works for you.

No, that really didn't really pertain o my problem. I am trying to stop Windows print jobs from printing a banner page. Most other users actually have an option in the printer properties, but this one doesn't. Thanks anyway!

What program are you printing from? Does it have a banner on pages from different progs? I have used software in the past that had banner pages to them and you had to disable it in the software.

It happens in all programs that use the Windows print driver; Word, Outlook, Notepad etc.

Unfortunatly, none of this worked. We have a Netware 4.11 network and I was told by someone else that when you set u a printer with NDS printing, some of the tabs disappear in your printer settings. I tried to switch the printer to LPT1 and see if the tabs came back but no luck. Is there a registry entry that could be toyed with? I browsed through it but nothing stuck out to me. Thanks again!

    Cool

For a Netware printer, there should be a tab in the printer properties called "Printer Settings" - make sure all the options in this dialog are not checked; you don't need any of them. If banner or form feed are checked, then you'll get the extra page from the printer.

If that dialog is not there, then either one of two things is possible:

    1. Netware Client 32 software needs to be reinstalled (or installed if it hasn't been already)
    2. NDPS (Netware distributed print services) is being used and the settings need to be changed in Netware Administrator as well.

There is also one other issue with printer drivers delivered to workstations via ZENworks - a dialog in Netware Administrator doesn't work properly, so that the printer driver always prints an extra page no matter what you check in the options. (this only applies to Netware Administrator, not individual workstations) Unfortunately I can't find the document right now, but you can consult the Novell Knowledgebase yourself at <a href="http://support.novell.com/search/kb_index.jsp" target="_blank">http://support.novell.com/search/kb_index.jsp</a> and see what you can turn up. If you include the term 4.11 in your search, the results will only pertain to v4.11 of NetWare.

Hope some of that helps you out.
