Is XP just selfish?
I was running a P2P over wifi, myself running XP and my neighbor on 98. I could see his machine and shares, but he could only see that I existed on the network. Nothing we did was able to fix this, so we took it down. Does anyone have any clues as to what might have been wrong?

On the XP box, you need to setup a user and password for your friend, then when he logs into his PC, he should login with that name and password. Providing everything else is setup in the network properties (TCP/IP, file and print sharing, Client for MS networks, same workgroup) you should have no problem. I presume you were almost there, seeing as how 98 could share to XP…
