    Question Cold Cathode mod problem

Ok here is the scoop. I bought a dual cold cathode. When I turn it on my PC will BSOD. I think I read somewhere before that a PS would cause this because of lack of power. Here are my specs and maybe someone can help me figure this out.

    Asus A7V333 mobo
    Athlon XP 2100+
512Mb Mushkin sooper dooper mem (don't remember exact model Number)
TNT 2 32MB AGP Vid Card
    60 GB Maxtor HD
    20GB Maxtor HD
    40x12x40x Pextor CD-RW
    Enermax EG365P-VE(FMA) 350W PS
    Standard retail fan/heatsink
3 80MM YS Tech case fans

I don't think its the PS because I've had lots of other things added to my PC that didn't do this and I have less on there now than before. I didn't think that a cold cathode drew that much power. I have also read that other A7V333 owners have voltage probs that they corrected by disabling unneeded options on the mobo.

Anywho, I'll wait to see if any of you guys can help with this one.

    Thanks---

well the PS could be the problem.

you are running quite a bit for just a 350 PS, i would almost suggest if you cang et your hands on a spare 450 or so to test it out and see if things are the same or not.

You can also grab a multimeter and see how much power is being pulled and look for drops in power when things are turned on

or as a interesting mod, if your case is big enough, buy a cheap 250 PS and put it in there as well, run the lights and smaller less power consuming items on the 250, i have seen it done before, just can't recall where i saw the guide on what pins to place where to get the PS to wakeup along with the main one.
