    XP Reboots

    Ok Im trying to figure out why a system of mine keeps rebooting.. Every 3 mins or 30 mins or an hour

    Evenet viewer has nothing in there.

    Software loaded is mainly Norton Utilities 2002.. which I think might be it, I have not uninstalled it to check to see if thats the problem.

    Specs

    Soyo kt333
    AMD XP 1600+
    pc1600 256 mb
    geforce3 ti-500


    Just wonder if anyone has any ideas b4 I play around

    Memory maybe?

    Whats the BSOD or is it still on auto restart in start up and recovery options under advanced in properties of my computer?

    yes auto restart is still on, which I will take off...


    looking online at most xp reboots I have found that it has been cuased by norton.. though if I take off norton and it still doesnt work.. I would need to know where to look next

    Just trying to get ideas before I try, see what my options are

    Check if you have a falty the Power Supply

    Run adawar Ihad a spy ware that kept rebooting me. but dont remeber the name of it.

    its worth a try though

    ok, Norton utilities has been removed, and the user says he hasnt gotten a reboot yet.. Norton must have been the cause.


    humm another reason why I dont like using Norotn.. oh-well it was free with the mobo..


    Didnt norton have this problem before in win98
