    Error on Startup

I Have installed Windows95 on a computerand have loaded most of the software but now I tried to load a program that would not load. On startup I get the message: invalid read data port reported. My BOOTLOG text also states that - [001533El]Load Failed=EBIOS
    [001532DA]Load Failed=VSHARE

    Post won't load

Can you get into safe mode? I would remove the last software you installed (or all of them)..

What was the program you installed that created the error messages?..does it rely on input from an external source?..i.e. usb or pcmcia or serial?

The programs I was installing are Middle School Math and Grammar, Norton System Works and SiSoft Sandra. I guess anything on cd because I had a diagnostic program on a floppy that installed with no problems. I also ran Norton System Works from cd and it found no problems. I also tried to run setup again over the OS and it just hangs. After I do Control, Alt, Delete and quit program I get message that d:\setup encountered an enternal error. Error 703

It is not clear which program you are quitting, could you say what exe you quit?

Have you tried booting to safe mode and uninstalling the maths program and sisoft sandra as Amyb suggested? Norton Systemworks also should be uninstalled.

I was trying to install those programs, the setup wizard box came up, the meter ran to 100% and just froze. I did control, alt, delete then the box came up came upstating that D:\setup encountered an internal error and will shut down. I ran Norton Systemworks from cd.
