NewDot???
Hi, my mother has just explained to me she was cleaning her hard-drive for more space by removing files she doesn't think she needed, well she now has a problem getting on the internet, cos she no longer has a file called newdot, i presume that this is a driver file, she mentioned that it might have been within her program files on the c-drive? She cannot access the internet and get the usual can't find file.
Does anyone know how to sort this problem out, e.g. using the windows installer program (tried but not sure what to install?). Does she need to remove windows completely and then re-install from scratch. Should she use the recovery disc supplied, will this delete all files on the computer loosing all her music and documents??
Please help
Thanks

Intel Mod
A read here:
http://www.cexx.org/newnet.htm
should enable you to solve the problem.
I'd also suggest using Spybot Search & Destroy to clear systems of Spyware, Foistware & other Malware that causes these types of problems.

.......And tell your "mom" not to install KaZaa, Imesh, or Morpheus. All those programs are for piracy and cause a myriad of problems if not uninstalled correctly, not to mention trojans and virus's you will surely get as a bonus.
Newdot.net is closely associated mostly with KaZaa...........
