Wireless connection for a long distance.

A customer is looking to install a wireless connection between two locations to share a program and some rescources. Its a direct line of site nearst I can see but the distance is around 800 yards I would guess. Money is the biggest factor of course and then security. Does anyone know a good solution or a better way to accomplish this?

That's pretty far but not impossible if you have the $$$.

We have a Cisco wireless bridge at one site. Expensive but it seems to be working. Link: http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/cc/...t/a350m_ds.htm

Or go cheaper and get two linksys wap11's set in bridge mode and get two directional antennas and you have the same setup. 800 yards is easy. I've read about links of 5+miles. All's you need is LOS (line of site). Anyways run over to the Netstumbler forums and search around (sign up and you'll get the full list of forum topics). You'll see several people have asked the same question and have all gotten different solutions. One word of advise though: search first or you'll get flames Cheers.
