I manage about 300 LAN/WAN systems with various OS's. We use Mcafee E-Policy Orchestrator. We use that to push the antivirus installations, patches, updates, and set system policies.
Generally I've had good luck with it.

One of the major advantages of using ePolicy is that it can manage and update competitors' products such as Norton AV. (http://www.nai.com/us/_tier2/product...chestrator.pdf)
Check out page 529 and on for specific product versions supported in this PDF: http://www.networkassociates.com/com...t_Guide_EN.pdf
