Angry Voodoo 5500 problem in XP

    Hi,
I have an annoying problem with my Voodoo 5500 AGP card in Windows XP Professional. In the display properties tab it says the card has 32MB memory. That's wrong, the card has in fact 64MB. Is it the driver that can't report the right amount of memory to Windows or is there something wrong with my video card?
    Best regards,
    Tony

Because the V5 cards run 2 identical chipsets in SLI mode on one card, the memory is shared equally between the 2 chipsets (32Mb each). As the driver within XP is only a basic version (enough to work around in windows) it will only use one of the chipsets & the amount of memory allocated to the chipset.

Unless you can find hacked Win2K drivers that work properly within XP , this is the limitations of your card. You will also find the same applies for the ATI Rage Fury MAXX as well.
