There's loads of ways so ' yourself' !

Are you looking to buy something (so give us a budget & start thinking about say Nero , as do many writing proggies .. there are lots !) or do you want something 'free' ?

Maybe you already have something that will (like I said a writing program for CDR which you surely have if you want to 'create a boot cd') & you just don't know how ?

(if you do like easy cd, which I don't at all .. that'll work to create a bootable cd - if you can put up with its 'other' issues )

I use Nero. Do you have to start with a bootable floppy, or can it just be CD?

You can do it either way ... suggest you go buy yourself a re-recordable cd (assuming your recorder is capable) or some cheapie CDR disks to 'experiment' with..

Its not very difficult, but thats dependant on just what we want to make (& from what !) ...

Programs tend to insist on creating rescue disk sets, using an endless number of floppies--these could be done on CD? Have heard that floppy disks are being phased out? A bootable floppy just adds COMMAND.COM, so putting that and CD drivers on a CD-RW should work?

Yup they have been trying to 'phase out floppies' for a long time ... 1.44 mb ain't so much use nowadays, but I shouldn't panic, they are still pretty common & will remain among us for a while yet ...

Bootable floppies 'do it' 3 different ways, either emmulating floppy or hard-disk, or using a boot image which you copy from another source like your windows cd, just whats best for you, as I said depends, on what we are 'up to' .. which was why I said 'experiment'

Bart's way to create bootable CD-Roms (for Windows/Dos) - 'far too much info !' ...
