    Question Matrox G400 Dual Head?

I am wondering if I can use the Dual head properties of my Matrox G400max as a TV output.

Now I know there is a G400TV version, but I am sick of watching DVDs on my PC and there is a DVDMAX feature on my card but the question remains..How do I use it? I bought the card as a OEM and it did not come with the users manual.

I have from my a spare Matrox Rainbow Runner, which plugs into a 15 pin Monitor connector to a S-Video and Composite..

I am also wondering if this might be what I need?

Anyhelp in this matter would be appreciated...

I just don't want to have to buy either a new DVD player, or a new card...

    Sure can!

The cable that came with mine has a standard vga connector on one end - splits - and then gives a choice of either an s-video connector or an analogue feed (Which sounds mighty like what you have, if not you can get them from matrox).

Plug it in, open display properties, settings, click advanced, dual head, open up features, then set whichever variant you want.

You need to now set the properties of the second display which should now be visable on the settings tab of display properties, just set that to generic tv.

Oh! try the dual head software from matrox downloads as well.

    Happy viewing

    Thanx a lot...

That brings me to another question...

What is the max Resolution and refresh rate for a generic TV?

    Thumbs up

    thanx a lot...
    It works...It Really works!!!

2048 by 768 so far is the only way it will work thus far...

and the Wide Screen is stretched out almost like it's full screen instead of wide..

The wierd thing is that my screen fades from bright to dark then loses signal..?

then goes to blue..nothing and back again...

I'll be posting over at the Matrox board but help is always good where ever it comes..

    thanx!
