Please help lockups
I have been experiencing lockups whenever I use certain direct-x programs. Inevidably the programs will work fine up to a certain point and then I'll get a lockup at that point every time. The lockup causes a repeating of whatever sound my soundcard was producing at the time. I'm running a Athalon AMD with windows ME. I have downloaded the latest drivers for my sound card, my video card, and my motherboard. My video card is a Radeon VE and my sound card is a Diamond Monster Sound MX400. I suspect that this is some sort of device conflict because I was having this problem previously on an Nvidia Riva 128 video card. Any help would be greatly appreciated, this has been very frustrating.
Thanks

u need to 1st look in device manager. if poss look for irq conflicts, memory space useage and perhaps consider manually setting them to something u know wont conflict. u could also change the direct-x version depending upon which u have got presently. dxdiag will tell u that. (from start, run - type dxdiag, ok). some versions of direct-x were bugged.

you might try upgrading your directX at windowsupdate.com
