boot your machine from a win98 cd (don,t know about millenium ,,,,don,t use it)
ask for cdrom support , dont load win 98 , at the A prompt type FDISK ,,,and delete all partitions ----inc non dos ----- , then create a dos partition ,,,,and go for it.

On a related subject...
Since the only 2 times I've seen WinME on PCs were when I was removing it, can anyone tell me if it is possible to have the ME installer offer the option to keep WinXP by installing to another partition/folder?

Do you have rocks in your head? Why would you downgrade from XP to ME???
Yeah, best bet is to format your Cdrive, then copy the Cab files from the ME CD to a new Driectory on the PC. Then run the setup.exe from the C Drive...
But again I stress, WHY?

No accounting for taste, I guess.
Or maybe he's a masochist.
Does not the WinME provide the option to format the drive during the installation?
If the hard drive is partitioned with NTFS, you'll have to re-format the drive to something WinME can read and access.
