win98se reboot loop
My pC goes into a reboot loop everytime windows 98 starts loading.Even safe mode gives the same problem.Using step by step confirmation i found that it restarts everytime at a particular point, when i either give Y or N to load msmouse.vxd. I am using Windows98 SE on P4 machin & using an internal modem of DAX. Please help.Formatting & reinstalling windows98 did not help.help me please.

If you did a true format & reload of WIN98, it sounds like a hardware issue. Did it allow you to finish the istall of WIN98, or did it get stuck in the reboot loop before installation completed?

Welcome to windrivers srinipkweb! Is the mouse connected? If so, disconnect it with it shut down, see if you get a different response. Check the mouse cable for damage also.

It is quite likely to do with hardware. Thats pretty much confirmed by the format and reinstall. I would reduce it to the basics and try that
video card, harddrive, 1 stick of ram
turn off everything in the bios like onboard sound, usb onboard nic
The try it

Good grief, how many times did you hit the new thread button? I have deleted and merged the other threads back here.
