    Smile which video card now?

I have a via chip MB and unfortunately, when I built this thing, I bought an ATI Rage Fury Maxx. I learned there was an incompatibility problem, so I swithed video cards with my wife's machine. She had a creatine 3D blaster banshee. I want a better 3D card that's compatible with my machine and winME. I have a Jetway 99as-l Mb with 256pc133 mem ,a plextor cdrw8x4x32x,westerndig 45Gb HHD,a Realtek10/100 ethernet card, and a 17" Gateway Vivitron Monitor. Any Suggestion would be appreciated. I play Diablo 2 and anticipate wanting to play the newest games for at least the next 18 to 24 mos with this machine.
HP Laptop 6830s with 4 Gbs ram and a 250gb HDD I run Vista business 64bit. But I have some old computers too.

ATI Radeon. Yes I know it is an ATI card but believe me, I ditched a Rage Fury Maxx as it had no Win2K support (amongst other things) and I am very happy with it. Roll on Radeon 2

I'm an ATI fan as well. I have an AIW Radeon and it's very, very good. I might not consider Nvidia at all in my upgrade scenes.

I say go with nVidia GforceII MX. It is basically a slightly detuned GforceGTS card. I've been using it since it came out with no problems. Can be bought for around $100. However, if money is no object, I'd go witht the Radeon or the GeforceGTS2 Ultra.

You should be able to pick a Radeon 32Mb SDR for around the $100 mark. Don't overlook this one, even though it has SDR memory, it flies with the best of them.

Don't forget the good old Matrox video cards. I bought one to make sure my AGP port was OK when my flag ship GeForce2 ultra64 started giving me problems. Wish I'd gone with Radeon 64MB DDR instead of GF2 U64. But I still love the Matrox Millenium G-400 I got as a standin while my replacment GF2 came. Runs like a dream (the Matrox)!

Radeon!! I'm using both a 32MB DDR in a P3 733 and a 64MB DDR in a 900MHz AMD! Sure you might not get as much raw speed as a GeForce2 but it looks much better, is generally cheaper (64MB card~$200). Most I've sen over clock quite easy as well. Check out http://www.rage3d.com
