    Resolved [RESOLVED] Slow performance

Sometimes after running windows for like 1 hour and loading graphic heavy web pages..the computers gets really slow. Applications take a couple of seconds to minimize..as I can see the window scroll down the screen as it minimizes. I hear a lot of hardrive activity..but the computer gets really slow. Any solution?

Can your video card handle the strain? Also make sure your windows swap file is big enough to support your browsing habits.

I must suggest quite strongly...do NOT let windows control you swap file size. As we all know Windows is a memory hog and will eat up your ENTIRE hardrive for the swap file if you let it(which causes the 'hardrive grind' that you keep getting once your system slows down).

Only allow a maximum size or 85 megabytes in your swap file no matter you system memory amount. A minimum size of you EXACT system memory amount is wise also.

Do you know how to modify your swap file? No? Then I suggest downloading CacheMan from www.outertech.com and letting this awesome free program manage it all for you.
    Good luck.
