Now IE can not connect
I have 2 users that have had issues with spyware and junk like that. They have ran several programs to help clear the issues. Seem now they can not connect at all with IE to the internet. One machine can not get an IP address at all and the other gets a local address to the cable modem (192.168.100.11) but not an IP from the cable network.
Any suggestions on how to cure IE, if it is an IE problem? I tried taking IE out of ADD/REMOVE COMPONENTS - WINDOWS COMPONENTS and then reinstalling it. I also tried the WinXP Winsock2 Fix, LSP Fix, etc.
I was thinking of installing Mozilla just to see if I can get to the Net, would that help pinpoint IE as being the issue?

The reset did not help. And I installed Mozilla Firefox and I could not open pages either. Message: "The connection was refused when trying to make contact with www.ABC123.com"
Looks like I am going to reformat and start over......

If Norton firewall is present, try disabling it.
