    Post Restarting

    Other than disabling fast shutdown...is there any way to fix the restart issue with the original Windows98? Is there a patch like there was for Win98SE?

    Are you sure everything else (about hardware) is working properly?
    Problems like that sometimes mean faulty hardware.

    Never heard of Win98A shutdown patch, BTW.
