Com ports
If I have these disabled in the BIOS, but Windows still picks them up. How can I stop Win98 from seeing them? Disabling them in the hardware profile is not what I am looking for.

Must be a Packard Hell.
No matter what you do, they'll always come back. Happens on some HP's and Compaq's as well.
Remove them in device manager, then remove the PCI steering in system devices, then remove all references to "com" in the registry, make sure they're still disabled in BIOS and restart.
If you get lucky in the reg, they'll be gone, I just don't remember the right keys to delete off hand, and No PB to work on.
