Welcome to Windrivers Rosebud
I am not sure what you mean by "desktop priorities" - can you explain a bit more?

Sorry, guess I didn't make it too clear. Fairly new at this and still learning. If I right click an empty space on the desktop I get a dropdown menu. Then I can click desktop and get along list of backgrounds i can use as a background on the desktop. Most of this list are pictures from "My Pictures" file and folder. ( My family keeps sending me pictures in Email and I bounce them over there), but I do not put them in the desktop list.Is there a way to remove them from the desktop list but not lose them from the My Pictures file and folders. Thanks for your time and help.

Do you have a theme installed? When I right click the desktop, I don't get the item desktop....
You could try this - just a guess.... copy one of the pictures in "my pictures" to another folder - any folder outside my documents.
Do your right click and then desktop... now right click on the file name of the picture you made a copy of... you may get the option to delete. If you do then delete the item off the menu. Check that it has gone by right clicking the desktop again. Now check in my pictures and see if the file is still there. If that works, and the file is still in my pictures, it means you can delete them from that list without affecting the pictures in my pictures.
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."
